- From a Tourist to a Moved Traveller The beautiful flowers at the Mana Village - India's 1st Village I had no idea what I was signing up for when I told Amma, "I'll join you on the trip." At that time, I had only two worries: whether I would get two weeks of leave from work, and how Sarath would manage taking care of Gowri on his own for  2 weeks. Thankfully, both concerns were sorted out sooner than expected. So I decided to accompany her. Partly because I was worried about sending her alone on such a long journey, and partly because I had always wanted to travel with her - just the two of us. So I said yes. Only later, when I started researching the trip, did I realize that I had unknowingly signed up for one of the most adventurous pilgrimages in India - the Char Dham Yatra. Happy Retirement Amma

Amma with her memento๐Ÿ’– Amma is retiring after 42 years of continuous service...!!!And that's huge... Isn't it?  To start working as a teenager and continue till you turn 60... Huge respect for her... She had all the reasons to give up, but she didn't. She can't. She is the one who doesn't have the word ' Rest ' in her dictionary. And now, after her retirement, I am sure she will be busier than she was. She will open all the to-do lists that she was not able to do because of her job. But I want to add that even with a full-time job and a family to take care of, she managed to fit in many more things in her schedule... She learned Hindi, Astrology, Yoga, Tailoring, Diploma in EE, Driving and whatnot.... And that too, not for namesake... Whatever skills she learned; nothing has gone in vain. She is that superwoman that we all have heard about in stories and movies... Besides, she never had it easy...!!! She is our own Iron Lady-The one who fought the world for...
